Villa Mongalli Winery is located on one of the most suggestive hills and picturesque areas of Umbria, between the towns of Bevagna and Montefalco, an incredibly fascinating and ideal terroir. Inside the beautiful estate of 15 hectares a vineyard of mostly: Sagrantino was planted, occupying more than half of the vineyard, followed by Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sirah and Merlot, Petit Verdot, Gamay and two hectares of Trebbiano, a noble Umbrian traditional white wine. Particular characteristics include the crus of Sagrantino della Cima and the parcels of Sagrantino in Col Cimino, located in the area of San Marco in Montefalco.

The History
On the Hills between Bevagna and Montefalco, inside of a secular park, stands Villa Mongalli (371 m.a.s.l.), the ancient residence of a noble family, which was sold in 1999 to the Menghini family together with the surrounding estate. The villa is especially valuable for its frescoes created by the painter Mariano Piervittori, particularly active in Umbria in the second half of the 19th century, to whom we owe the decorations of numerous buildings of Perugia, Spoleto, Foligno, Bevagna, Città della Pieve, Orvieto, etc.
On part of the estate, the Menghini family planted a vineyard of about 15 hectares. The rare characteristics of the terrain; clay soil with consistent siliceous rocks which is light, warm and permeable, excellent exposure, the passion of the owners, the collaboration of nationally renowned experts and of the oenologist Emiliano Falsini, have enabled Villa Mongalli to obtain wines of great quality with the achievement of important acknowledgments from the Guides and experts of the sector.
